The food and the atmosphere here are great! The only thing that I would recommend for the staff. Don't try and ask the 4 year old if they want whipped cream on their waffle.
My go-to breakfast spot! Ended up here on a fluke one morning and have been coming back ever since. Small diner so there’s usually a wait, but well worth it. Delicious food & fair prices.
I love this place. The people here are very nice and the service is great. If i want it go or dining in the food is always hot and cooked well. The prices are great and in reasonable. You get what you pay for every time. Soo good.
A little pricey in my opinion for a diner, that being said it is arguably the best diner in the area. Food is always fresh and done to my liking. Service is great too!
I took my son to Athens for the first time. The staff was super friendly. The food was delicious. The food came out hot and fairly quick. My son told the waitress he rates it a 5 star. She told the owner. He came out asked if he was Kaleb. He introduced himself and thanked him! We will deffinently be coming back!
Athens Diner serves up good flavors in a low-key diner setting. Portion sizes are good and even though this isn't exactly a gourmet eatery they manage to get some good culinary concoctions out and they do it fast and cheap.
Make sure you come hungry! The picture is what my plate looked like AFTER I ate until I was stuffed! Absolutely delicious lamb gyro platter. I'll definitely be back!
Good diner food. Hostess was VERY uninviting AND ignored us. Waitress was nice. I'd come back but would have someone else check my party in so I could avoid interacting with the absolutely horrid hostess.
Great old diner atmosphere, with excellent food and service! I had a cheese steak and fries for breakfast, my wife traditional eggs benny with home fries. Big portions, we left stuffed and satisfied as always. Oh, and best fountain Pepsis in Burlington! Always busy with a wait, but don't let that discourage you-they move people thru quickly. Hard to find a better lunch or dinner spot.
Highly recommend! Been up in Vermont for a couple months and this is the best breakfast we have found so far. Great quality food and the service is exceptional. We got the biscuits and gravy which you could add eggs to if you like. Fresh made biscuits very soft center with toasty exterior, then the gravy was the perfect consistency with super fresh sausage chunks that were decent in size. Then the corned beef hash was clearly made with love, genuine fresh corned beef was in this. None of that canned macerated meat but rather quality chunks of flavorful corned beef with potatoes. A side of French toast was good as well, not my favorite as it was thin toast and I prefer thicker Texas toast, but still yummy. My boyfriend got the all meat scramble which had ham, sausage and bacon over home fries and he got two eggs Sunny side up. So good!!! Lastly we got a single chocolate chip pancake that was so fluffy in the center but perfectly done. Even the coffee was good, a medium roast with lots of flavor, not your average diner coffee that has been sitting for too long and now stale, this was perfectly made coffee. This is by far the best breakfast you will find here. I can not recommend enough, will definitely be back. The price was even reasonable. 50$ for everything!
